O&A Sponsors Fall Conference of SUNY Student Assembly

For the third consecutive year, O’Connell & Aronowitz and Student Defenders, a division of O&A’s Criminal Defense practice, were sponsors of the State University of New York Student Assembly 2018 Fall Conference.  Entitled “Building our Future Together”, the 3-day program brought together more than 200 student government representatives from SUNY’s  64 campuses.

Scott Iseman presented an educational workshop, “A College Student’s Legal Rights”.  The program included a discussion of Title IV, Affirmative Consent and legal issues facing college students that covered Federal and NYS law as well as college regulations.  The information prompted an active discussion and question/answer session for the audience of more than 60.

Held at the Albany Hilton in November, the conference includes Student Assembly elections and keynote speakers  in addition to the diverse educational workshops.
