Attorney Kelly Mikullitz Presents at BIANYS Legal Symposium
Kelly Mikullitz will be co-presenter at the 2019 BIANYS Legal Symposium being held June 3 in Saratoga Springs. The program, “Brain Injury Settlement Considerations”, is a significant topic in the event’s slate of presentations aimed at helping attorneys confidently handle brain injury cases.
The presentation reviews the myriad of issues involved in settlement discussions including life-care plans, pre-settlement and qualified settlement funds, subrogation or lien interests, the interplay between third-party liability and benefits, special needs trusts, Medicare set-aside and non-Medicaid trusts.
A Board Member of BIANYS since 2006, Kelly currently serves as 2nd Vice President, and has participated in both their Resource Management and Governance Committees. For more than a decade, she has represented hundreds of injured children and adults, dedicating a significant amount of her practice to advocating for individuals with serious brain injuries. A legal force and advocate for those suffering from brain injuries, Kelly has been active in organizing speaking engagements and presenting to attorneys, neighborhood associations, schools, and civic groups throughout New York State and at national conferences.
