Attorney Kelly Mikullitz Obtains $1.5M for Student Who Suffered Traumatic Brain Injury in College Classroom
Attorney Kelly Mikullitz reached a $1.5 million settlement last week in a case involving a college in western New York where her client, a former student of the school, suffered a traumatic brain injury after equipment fell from the ceiling in a classroom. The student suffers permanent neurocognitive and behavioral impairments from the incident.
In the years since the injury, Kelly’s client has undergone physical, cognitive and vestibular therapy and is still treating with medical providers in a myriad of specialties. The injured student’s medical providers were unanimous in their opinion that he was incapable of returning to his studies and his career path in his former capacity.
For more than a decade, Kelly Mikullitz has represented hundreds of children and adults with brain injuries. She is Vice President of the Brain Injury Association of New York State (BIANYS), served on their Board of Directors since 2014 and participates on their Resource Management, Governance and Executive Committees.
