CONSTRUCTION LAW ATTORNEY

We are seeking an experienced Construction Law Attorney to join our dynamic legal team in Albany, New York. The ideal candidate will have 5 to 10 years of experience in construction law, including drafting and negotiating construction contracts, handling disputes, and providing counsel to clients on construction-related matters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft and review construction contracts.
  • Represent clients in construction disputes, including litigation, arbitration, and mediation.
  • Conduct legal research and draft memoranda, pleadings, and legal opinions.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys on complex construction-related cases.

Qualifications:

  • J.D. from an accredited law school and admission to the New York State Bar.
  • 5–10 years of experience practicing construction law or litigation.
  • Knowledge of construction industry, laws, and regulations.

MARKETING DIRECTOR

This is a Marketing Director role for O’Connell and Aronowitz – Albany, NY Law Firm located in Albany, NY.   This is a hybrid role, allowing for flexibility to work remotely.  As the Marketing Director, you will be responsible for market planning, and marketing management.  You will develop and implement marketing strategies, conduct market research, manage marketing campaigns, and collaborate with internal teams to promote the firm’s services and brand.

Qualifications:

  • Marketing Planning, Marketing Management and Market Research skills.
  • Experience in developing and implementing marketing strategies.
  • Strong knowledge of marketing principles and best practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business or related field.
  • Experience in the legal industry is a plus.

LITIGATION PARALEGAL

We are seeking an experienced paralegal to join our team in our Albany office.  The position will be filled by a candidate with the following qualifications:

  • 3+ years’ experience as a civil paralegal
  • Experience drafting legal documents, such as pleadings and discovery
  • Experience preparing for trials, including drafting, and overseeing service of subpoenas, preparation of trial notebooks
  • Willingness to learn additional areas of specialized litigation practice
  • Ability to organize and review medical records
  • High level of proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite
    • Knowledge in the use of Worldox and TABS (STI) legal billing program preferable
  • Experience with E-filing documents with local and Federal Courts
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Organized and the ability to prioritize tasks
  • Must be able to work independently but also follow direction when given
  • A paralegal certificate or degree is preferred but not required

The paralegal will perform the following;

  • Manage and coordinate attorneys schedules;
  • Case management and file review
  • Draft various types of legal documents and correspondence
  • Prepare cases for deposition and trial;
  • Manage discovery and trial schedules
  • Review medical records
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned

LAW CLERKS

Every summer, O’Connell and Aronowitz seeks a studious and passionate law clerk for our thriving practice. The successful candidate will work with several different Attorneys daily, managing his or her schedule based on current demand. If you are a law student (L2 or L3) with excellent grades and a flexible schedule, you will be perfect for this position. We offer the opportunity to gain experience with Attorneys who serve in a wide variety of capacities representing clients in litigation, business, health facilities. The law clerk will have a broad range of duties including conducting legal research, preparing memos, drafting motions and legal briefs and supports attorneys by assembling and organizing information for legal documents; researching law; assembling case materials; writing reports and memoranda.  The hourly rate for this position is $31.50 per hour.

  • Must be able to draft motions
  • Ability to independently handle multiple priorities and deadlines while simultaneously functioning smoothly as part of a team in a close-knit environment
  • Impeccable writing, organizational, and communication skills are a MUST
  • Must be L2 or L3
